Founder and editor of Hip & Healthy, Sadie MacLeod is a woman on a mission to help you become ‘the best version of yourself’. Since MacLeod founded her online health and wellbeing magazine in 2011, the site has gone from strength to strength; there are now no less than two e-books featuring Hip & Healthy’s wellness-boosting recipes, as well as a shop stocking a covetable and curated selection of high-performance activewear. So what is it that inspires the fitness fanatic and all-round wellness wonder woman herself?

Motivation for me is all about…

Being passionate about what you are doing. As soon as you lose the passion the motivation starts to lack. It is also a little about energy – no one feels motivated when they are exhausted!

Success means…

Nothing without friends and family to share it with.

I couldn’t have got there without…

A lot of courage, a hefty dose of determination, two years of late nights and working at weekends, and one very supportive (and handsome) husband!

I always start my day with…

A run! It gets my creative juices flowing, not to mention my circulation and metabolism too. This is then followed with a good breakfast accompanied by a green juice!

When I don’t feel inspired I…

Do some exercise. I tend to get my best ideas whilst out on a run. I love that now with Siri on the iPhone you can actually record your thoughts as they come to you just by saying them to your phone. I often come back from a run with a massive to do list.

The landscape for women in business today looks…

Encouraging but there is still so much to be accomplished until we reach full equality.

The trait I most deplore in others is…

A glass half empty attitude! It really bothers me if a person dwells on the negativity of a situation rather than either doing something to change it or seeing the positives that come out of it. Positivity can be a powerful tool, and I would encourage everyone to use it as much as possible.

I’d like to be remembered for…

Helping women to become the happiest, healthiest versions of themselves.

What makes me happiest is…

A sunny weekend.

Can I run in heels?

Absolutely not. I can barely walk in heels.
