Who can resist a cocktail called the Pomegranate Paloma? Not us for sure! The charmingly-titled iconic cocktail is part of the newly-launched Classics. Perfected. cocktail menu from The Savoy. Created by the London’s luxury hotel’s award-winning master mixologist Erik Lorincz along with expert bartenders from four other international Fairmont hotels, the menu is available globally, celebrating cocktail culture and the best old and new classics.
If you love a margarita, the Pomegranate Paloma’s going to be right up your street. Zingy citrus flavours of grapefruit, lemon and Cointreau combine with a kick of Tequila and delicate hint of pomegranate, served long over ice. Add a salted rim to offset the pomegranate’s sweetness and the sharp citrus tang and this is one seriously tempting sip. If you’re hosting a party and want to make this a virgin version, simply omit the alcohol, multiply fruit juice quantities and finish soda.
1 oz (30ml) Casamigos Reposado Tequila
1 oz (30ml) Cointreau
1 oz (30ml) pomegranate juice
3/4 oz (20ml) fresh grapefuit juice
1/4 oz (10ml) fresh lemon juice
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Shake all ingredients then pour over ice cubes. Serve in a tall glass with a coarse-salted rim. Garnish with half a lemon wheel and a few pomegranate seeds if desired.
