A year of recommending beauty products and adding the best of the best to the RIH Shop – but what have you been buying over 2015? From shower gel to skincare, here’s what you’ve been purchasing this year – your pick of 2015’s very best beauty products.
Serums are the products that really supercharge your skincare – and you love them as much as we do, with Decleor’s super rich Aromessence Marjolaine Nourishing Super Serum and Vichy’s deeply hydrating Aqualia Thermal Serum getting a lot of love.
We all get the odd pesky blemish from time to time (usually when you’re going on a date/having an interview/throwing a dinner party) and you’ve been all over our spot-fighting solutions this year. Packed with salicylic acid, the Super Spot Remover Blemish Treatment Gel from Origins is a real go-to product, while Mario Badescu’s fast-acting Drying Lotion has also proved popular.
A skincare cult favourite thanks to numerous beauty editors and bloggers, Pixi’s Glow Tonic is a gentle everyday exfoliator enriched with glycolic acid to brighten, refresh and tone skin, leaving the complexion dewy and radiant. Revolutionary, miraculous stuff – and a bargain at the price!
We’ve yet to come across anyone who doesn’t say that this improves their sleep – and stats show that a massive 100% of people would recommend this to a friend. You’ve loved the Sleep Plus Pillow Spray from This Works this year – funnily enough, it’s one of our favourites too!
A styler with some pretty serious science behind it, the GHD Platinum is one very clever bit of kit. It’s the hair tool that won’t damage hair and – wait for it – will actually make your tresses healthier. It also heats up almost instantly, boosts shine and employs smart one-stroke technology so you can style hair even quicker. Genius!
It’s the instant solution to dress up any outfit and you’ve been loving the bright, vibrant statement shades we’ve recommended over 2015. Tom Ford’s Lip Color Matte, the dramatic Audacious Lipstick from NARS and Laura Mercier’s Creme Lip Colour were your most popular picks.
Bath & Shower Treats
We love a long hot soak in the tub and so, it seems do you! Dr Hauschka’s Almond Soothing Bath Essence and The Body Shop’s de-stressing Fuji Green Tea Bath Tea were two of your favourite indulgent bath products, as well as Susanne Kaufmann’s fantastically uplifting Oil Bath for the Senses.
When it comes to hopping in the shower, you love something uplifting to give a quick boost. Scented with bergamot and citrine, Prismologie’s Yellow Day shower gel proved a popular choice, and there’s no surprises that the fatigue-banishing Energy Bank shower gel from This Works was a definite hit. Mr Tom Ford’s deliciously luxurious Private Blend Neroli Portofino Shower Gel was another favourite…
Your favourite scents of 2015? Elegance, sexy perfumes are what you like best – starting with Diptyque’s unique and intriguing Florabellio. You also loved our pick of the niche new scents to launch in 2015 – including sensual yet masculine Gentlewoman from Juliette Has A Gun and supermodel Anja Rubik’s seductive debut perfume, Original. And then there’s the first ever Miu Miu scent – which proved to be as quirky, fun and individual as the fashion label itself.
