Welcome to BeautyMart’s Summer Beauty Edit…
I never used to be a fan of P20 but I increasingly heard good things about this once a day sunscreen from photographers, stylists and hairstylist and make-up artist friends who are constantly on trips, in the sun, and who have no time to keep reapplying sunscreen or who don’t want the stickiness and whiteness of a lot of high factor sunscreens. It’s a clear spray, SPF20 and UVA protective, water resistant and quick drying. It takes 15 minutes after application to be fully protective. I know that people stress about chemical sunscreens but it is not possible for a brand to claim UVA protection without it.
I’m really into the dark bushy brow look because that’s how my brows used to be and I do think it’s a more youthful look. Also, my brows lighten in the sun, so I prefer to tint them before I go away so that they stay dark plus it saves the daily eye pencil application.
I’m one of those people who are more tan on the plane on the way out than on the way home after my holiday. I always have a spray tan the day before I depart, then stay out of the sun, so I get paler day by day. I like to keep the glow going on my face so James’ BB pen is the perfect travel companion that doubles us as a light foundation and moisturiser too.
Bourjois Khol Kajal
This clever stick is great for lining but also smudgeable so it’s easy to do a quick smoky eye. In Arab countries they wear eyeliner to protect the eyes from the sun, so it’s the one make-up item I always wear on holiday.
All that squinting into the sun and associated holiday dehydration means I rely on my favourite eye cream by Zelens, which overnight fills in the fine lines and wrinkles and helps to deal with puffiness and dark shadows. It’s also a brilliant in-flight eye soother. I once took a week’s worth of sample sachets of Triple Action Eye Cream on holiday and ended up using it as an all over facial moisturiser with brilliant results.
I love this dry oil spray and use it for face, body and hair. It’s got the most delicious rich, tropical scent from 5 essential oils including Argan, Buriti and Pracaxi, and comes with EcoCert approval which reassures me as to its organic credentials. It’s 100ml which means I can use it in-flight too to rehydrate.
Deborah Mitchell Heaven Scent Body Spray
This product is strictly a body spray but I tend to use it as a general fragrance, aromathepeutic treat and refreshing mist. I’m obsessed with patchouli, sandalwood and neroli and all three are in this fine spray. I use it in flight and I often get asked by other passengers what I’m using as they love the smell.
I’ve long been a fan of Elizabeth Arden’s 8 Hour cream and in this tinted lipstick format with SPF15 it works as a lip balm and lipstick and even a light blusher.
