Who are they?
Founded in 2011, London-based label Three Floor is the creative brainchild of Central St Martins graduates Han Chong and Yvonne Hoang. In just a year, the pair have established themselves as a go-to label for women looking for chic, high quality garments that won’t break the bank.
The Three Floor aesthetic is comprised of clean, simple lines in an array of quirky fabrics and is inspired by off-duty models and style-savvy bloggers. The Three Floor girl is feminine with an attitude; blush pink and peach chunky knits are layered over angular mini skirts, creating a unique silhouette perfect for all seasons. Sleek shirts with a flash of patchwork neon hang effortlessly on the shoulders achieving that ‘just thrown on’ look, whilst delicate black lace adorns the décolletage atop a faux leather skirt. The neon lace dresses have an air of Christopher Kane about them, but the candy-coloured chiffons share the sweetness of Prada’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection.
Featured on Three Floor’s website is a film of the latest collection, directed by Gabriel Gettman, and styled by Creative Director Han Chong. Models are seen tumbling through the air in a sea of coloured confetti, whilst the Fortuny-esque chiffon pleated dresses stream over lithe limbs with the fluidity of being underwater. The dreamy pastel palette juxtaposed with disco glitters embodies the allure of the brand; youthful, pretty and spirited.
After only a year in production, Three Floor is already stocked by ASOS and the brand’s signature laidback style has been snapped up by bloggers (think Man Repeller and Soraya Bakhtiar) and fashionistas alike.
